Ed Lozowicki has served on the Large Complex Case Panel of the American Arbitration Association for over thirty years, and also serves on panels of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the California Public Works Arbitration Panel.
He has served as Panel Chair, Panelist or Sole Arbitrator in numerous cases through hearing and final award. These include large complex, multi-party disputes and cases with damage claims in nine figures. Ed has also served as mediator or counsel in many mediations and successfully facilitated settlements.
During forty years of private law practice Ed was a trial partner in three major law firms. He tried many cases before judges, juries, and arbitrators, some with damage claims in eight figures. Ed started his career as corporate counsel for a large international corporation representing it in construction, energy, commercial and labor matters. He retired from private practice to focus on working as an arbitrator and mediator.
Ed is a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Founding Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America. Ed is active in the Bar and ADR worlds. He is a member of the Governing Council of the Dispute Resolution Section of the American Bar Association and served as Co-Chair of the Section’s Arbitration Committee. He has organized and presented seminars on arbitration law for the ABA and AAA.
During private practice he served on the Board of Directors of a large construction company and several non-profit trade and bar associations. In private practice Ed also lectured and published on arbitration, construction and energy law and other topics.
